-friendly, flexible and comfortable. I am BIG on sustainable living and have been on a zero waste mission/journey for about a year. So all the furniture I bought were second hand or at least 'recyclable'. No sofa I knew were made with recyclable materials except for Wattle sofa. Not only that, you can replace different parts of the sofa: the covers, seats or legs, so I wouldnt have to throw out the entire sofa because of a broken sofa leg..etc. So Wattle sofa ticks my first box of sustainability and I didnt feel guilty when I placed the order.
Secondly, I want the sofa that can be reconfigured to suit my needs, rather than just sitting there in static facing a TV. I believe that living room is for living, to chat, to share and to enjoy each other company, not just watch TV in a line. Again, Wattle satisfies my needs. They can be reconfigured into separate chairs or a sofa bed. I was just amazed by the design and its details, and how thing scan be assembled so perfectly yet so easily!
Finally, I wanted comfortable sofa. Well, who doesn't? More specifically, I want soft sofa that provides good support. But all the sofa I had tried, they were either too hard or too soft. I remember I emailed Wattle Living asking about the 'soft-' and 'hard-ness' of the sofa and was told that they were just right (Dont the seller always say that?) But because I already decided to buy their sofa because of its econ-friendly and flexibility design, I thought I would take the gamble. Well, now I have sat on the sofa, I can tell you, it's really the best sofa I have ever sat on!
In short, I really LOVE Wattle sofa and I really want more people to consider them for their next sofa. Not only because it's good for us (the comfy level and the flexibility) but it's also good for the Nature. I also want to thank Ryan the designer for designing and producing this sofa! ctive thing but anyone looking for a sofa that balances softness and support should definitely check this out! Previously we had a Koala sofa, which we had found to be too soft for our liking - after sitting in it for too long we'd end up with an aching back or shoulders. The foam in each of the cushions had also lost most of its support (we've had it for about 2 years) so we were ready for an upgrade. The difference between our old sofa and the Wattle was immediately apparent. The cushioning is soft, but there's a level of support there that was missing from our old couch which combines to make an incredibly comfy sofa!
The overall design is also outstanding! We needed something that could easily be reconfigured to suit various functions and the Wattle is so easy to switch around - You can literally switch it from a 3 seater to a 2 seater + armchair, to a bed in less than a minute! The design is really well considered to allow each component to be able to fulfil multiple functions, or be replaced if ever necessary (important for us as we have destructive kittens!). Despite this level of modularity it still looks premium once assembled and feels sturdy too!

ight I stumbled across Wattle living on Instagram and I thought we were close to a winner.
We rent in Sydney and needed something that could grow and move with us. Ryan's design certainly sounded like the biz. We ordered swatches of fabric and it went from there. Less than 2 weeks later Ryan himself was setting up our new sofa in our living room! (No waiting months and months! Like other places)
Now - we've had our sofa for almost a month now and we could not be happier with it! It's the perfect length and height for our home. We opted for the fabric protection to help give protection from our 10mth old cavoodle puppy and dirt just wipes off! But we are happy to know we can have the covers dry cleaned if needed or buy replacement covers or even sections if anything really bad happens. (With puppies you never know!) We also got the ottoman to put our feet up and the table to put drinks on.
The sofa is so comfy and looks fantastic! And although we haven't had the chance to have a lot of guests due to recent lockdowns the few we have had have commented how awesome it feels and looks!

d how to put the sofa together which was really helpful. The same day the couch was delivered, we had fun trialling configurations for our space. (A) 3 seats & 2 seats (B) 2 seat with chaise + 1 seat with chaise (C) 2 seat + 2 seat + 1 seat. The real plus is that it’s fairly easy to switch up at any point depending on how you want to use your space and guests we’re expecting in future. We’re a 2 person household so we’ve gone complete sloth option with a chaise each which we love! We weren’t quite able reconfigure it with the same level of ease and finesse that Ryan demonstrated, but definitely something we have got the hang off with a bit more practice over time 😊. In terms of comfort, really happy with it. I suppose everyone has different preferences in terms of firmness so it’s a bit hard to give it a rating. If I were to describe it, I’d say it’s not sink-in soft nor is it super firm/hard. Probably in between with a firm level of bounce which aligned to our preference. We’ve had the sofa for about a month now and use it every day. I’ve fallen asleep 3 nights of the week on the couch for the last fortnight. Another feature which was a big selling point for me was the ability to unzip and detach ALL the covers including the arms/backs of the sofa! I loved that I can do emergency spot cleans easily and not have a panic attack if I spilled or dropped anything on the couch covers. Big tick!
Accessories: We opted for the coffee table accessory and the sofa bed double brackets. Coffee table is really nifty as it can basically be attached to any seat. The table swivels 360 a little so another cool feature. Perfect for setting down your remote and coffee/tea. The sofa bed double brackets is also really practical and can be stored tidily away within the sofa. We wanted something where we could accommodate guests without having to buy another guest bed. Both practical accessories and highly recommend both!
Purchase Process: We had been shopping for quite some time for the right sofa. Based on the website/IG/Facebook, this sofa was what we were after. But we hadn’t seen it in real life to touch, feel and sit in it. This led me to request fabric samples which was received within a week. I was pretty particular about the fabric and was pleased to see that it was quality made and appeared resistant to fabric pilling vs other sofas we had seen...another box ticked. We loved the design, loved the fabric and the "stone" colour. We were 90% sure we were going to love it but we hadn't sat in it yet...which leads to me the next point. I had comfort in knowing that we had a 30 dial trial which really sealed our decision to purchase. I had few questions on configurations and the purchase process and Ryan was very responsive on all fronts. Thank you for the great customer service!

tself is even better than I'd hoped for. I ordered it because I liked the flexibility and sustainability behind a modular system, though was nervous ordering something I'd never seen in person, and couldn't test for comfort. There was no need to be worried - it's really comfy, for sitting / lying / sprawling / even napping! It's immaculately made, all the materials and joinery are high-quality and click into place exactly as described.
There are certainly cheaper options around, but I think Wattle is excellent value for money - especially since the modular system means you won't need to buy another couch!

ave always had sofas that I can’t sit on for too long without getting a sore back. Wattle provides great support for my back whilst still being soft and comfy. The bottom seat is a little firmer but I like it so I’m not sinking into it. The modulars make it super easy to move around and I love the idea of being able to change the covers to suit different styles and trends without having to purchase a whole new sofa (and less landfill!) It has seriously ticked all my boxes.. even some boxes I never even knew I had! Quick delivery and friendly service was the cherry on top. Highly recommend! was so uncomfortable but this sofa design didn't seem to compromise the comfort at all. And with our previous sofa, all my family members tend to seat on the same spot and the cushions were wearing out differently but I can just swap seats around for even wearing for this sofa. Love the subtle earth colour scheme and nice feeling fabrics. The only issue I have is that it's a deep seating style sofa and so comfortable so I keep falling asleep when I tried to read my book....:).
